Specifications Introduction
Prestressed steel wire is an umbrella term for steel wires crafted from top-tier, high-carbon steel plates. These undergo meticulous processes such as acid washing, cold drawing, or stable treatment post-phosphating. Depending on the production techniques, they can be categorized into two distinct types: cold-drawing steel wire and stress-eliminating steel wire. As per surface conditions, they are classified into plain steel wire, indentation steel wire, and spiral rib steel wire. Cold drawing wire is directly employed in prestressed concrete post the cold drawing process.
Raw Material Requirements
The essential raw materials for prestressed concrete include high-quality carbon steel wire rods like SWRH77B or SWRH82B. Critical requirements for these wire rods encompass size, shape, weight, and permissible deviation, alongside grade, chemical composition, smelting method, delivery state, mechanical properties, decarbonization layer, micro-structure, surface quality, and any special specifications, ensuring superior performance.
Cooling is meticulously managed using Sterem technology, enabling an exceptional Sotenization rate exceeding 85%. Typically, coils manufactured via standard processes are fully capable of satisfying the stringent production demands of prestressed concrete steel wire and steel strand.
Standards of Steel Wire for Prestressed Concrete
The current standards are GB/T5223-2014 Prestressed concrete steel wire, according to ASTM A421-16, ASTM A881/A881M-2005, BS5896-2012, EN10138-2:2009, GOST 7348-81, TU U27.3-136-004-2003, DSTU ISO 6934-2, GOST 7348-81, DSTU ISO 6934-2, ABNT NBR 7482:2008, etc.
Applications for the Reinforcement of Concrete Constructions
Steel wire for prestressed concrete finds its remarkable applications in the construction of single and multi-story houses, highway and railway bridges, sleepers, electric poles, pressure water pipes, storage tanks, and water towers. Its use expands further into modern high-rise buildings, underground structures, hydraulic edifices, marine structures, airport buildings such as runways and terminals, and pressure vessels of nuclear power plants. This diverse application spectrum caters to industries, including super-tall, super-span, super-volume, super-large area, and overweight load requirements, in myriad shapes and functional structural engineering.
