The 2002 update of the ASTM standard highlights the significance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, advising against the use of plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) aligns with ASTMA 882/A882M-96, upholding strict guidelines for epoxy-coated strand products, assuring superior quality across both types.
Renowned globally, epoxy-coated steel strands are celebrated for their exceptional corrosion resistance, requiring precise coating thickness and flawless surface integrity with zero pinholes, as specified by both standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a prescribes a coating thickness range of 0.38 - 1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while ISO 14655:1999 (E) stipulates a range of 0.40 - 0.90mm. For epoxy-coated strands, an accurate thickness requirement of 0.65 - 1.15mm is mandated.
