The 2002 update to the ASTM standard highlights the significance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands while advising against plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) aligns with ASTMA 882/A882M-96, maintaining stringent specifications for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring superior quality across both types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands stand out for their exceptional corrosion resistance, with precise coating thickness and immaculate surface integrity, devoid of pinholes, as mandated by both standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a prescribes a coating thickness of 0.38 -1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while ISO 14655:1999 (E) specifies a range of 0.40-0.90mm.
