The 2002 update of the ASTM standard highlights the significance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, recommending against plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) aligns with ASTMA 882/A882M-96, upholding stringent guidelines for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring exceptional quality across both categories.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are celebrated globally for their exceptional corrosion resistance, requiring exact coating thickness and perfect surface integrity devoid of pinholes, as demanded by these standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a specifies a coating thickness range of 0.38 - 1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while ISO 14655:1999 (E) stipulates between 0.40 - 0.90mm.
