The 2002 ASTM revision underscores the importance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, advising against plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) aligns seamlessly with ASTM.A 882/A882M-96, upholding meticulous guidelines for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring the highest quality for both types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are globally revered for their exceptional corrosion resistance, requiring precise coating thickness and impeccable surface integrity with zero pinholes, as mandated by both standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a specifies a coating thickness range of 0.38 - 1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, whereas ISO 14655:1999 (E) mandates a range of 0.40 - 0.90mm.
