At present, two leading international standards govern epoxy-coated steel strands: ASTM.A882/A882M-02a and IS0 14655:1999 (E), defining two pivotal types: epoxy-coated filled strands and epoxy-coated steel strands. The 2002 revision of the ASTM standard highlights the criticality of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, not recommending plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) mirrors ASTMA 882/A882M-96, thereby maintaining rigorous guidelines for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring uncompromised quality across both types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are globally recognized for their unparalleled corrosion resistance, demanding precise coating thickness and impeccable surface integrity with no pinholes, as stipulated by both standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a specifies a coating thickness range of 0.38 -1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while IS0 14655:1999 (E) specifies a range of 0.40-0.90mm. For epoxy-coated strands, the required thickness is precisely 0.65 -1.15mm.
Both ASTM A882/A882M-02a and IS0 14655:1999 (E) guarantee that no pinholes exist throughout the entire length of our epoxy-coated steel strands, a standard our products consistently achieve with excellence.
