The 2002 revision of the ASTM standard highlights the significance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, advising against the use of plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) is aligned with ASTM.A 882/A882M-96, upholding rigorous guidelines for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring superior quality in both types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are celebrated worldwide for their extraordinary corrosion resistance, necessitating precise coating thickness and impeccable surface integrity without any pinholes, as required by both standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a specifies a coating thickness range of 0.38 - 1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while ISO 14655:1999 (E) prescribes a range of 0.40 - 0.90mm.
