Prestressed steel wire is a specialized steel wire crafted from top-quality high-carbon steel plates through a meticulous process of acid washing, cold drawing, or stable treatment post-phosphating. Based on the production techniques, it is classified into cold-drawing steel wire and stress-eliminating steel wire. Depending on surface conditions, it includes plain steel wire, indentation steel wire, and spiral rib steel wire. Cold drawing wire is directly utilized for prestressed concrete post cold drawing.
Raw Material Requirements
The primary raw materials for prestressed concrete encompass high-quality carbon steel wire rods, namely SWRH77B or SWRH82B. Essential requirements for these wire rods include size, shape, weight and allowable deviation, grade and chemical composition, smelting method, delivery state, mechanical properties, decarbonization layer, microstructure, surface quality, and any special requirements, etc.
Cooling is meticulously managed using Sterem technology to achieve an impressive Sotenization rate exceeding 85%. Typically, coils produced with standard processes satisfy the production demands for prestressed concrete steel wire and steel strand.
Standards of Steel Wire for Prestressed Concrete
The current standards are GB/T5223-2014 Prestressed concrete steel wire, according to ASTM A421-16, ASTM A881/A881M-2005, BS5896-2012, EN10138-2:2009, GOST 7348-81, TU U27.3-136-004-2003, DSTU ISO 6934-2, GOST 7348-81, DSTU ISO 6934-2, ABNT NBR 7482:2008, etc.
