The 2002 ASTM update underscores the significance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands while advising against plain epoxy-coated strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) aligns seamlessly with ASTM.A 882/A882M-96, which maintains high standards for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring top-tier quality across both types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are globally recognized for their exceptional corrosion resistance, demanding precise coating thickness and flawless surface without pinholes, as required by these standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a prescribes a coating thickness range of 0.38 - 1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, whereas ISO 14655:1999 (E) specifies a range of 0.40 - 0.90mm. For epoxy-coated strands, an accurate thickness of 0.65 - 1.15mm is mandated.
