The 2002 revision of the ASTM standard underscores the significance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, discouraging the usage of plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) aligns closely with ASTM.A 882/A882M-96, upholding stringent guidelines for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring superior quality across all product types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are renowned internationally for their extraordinary corrosion resistance, requiring precise coating thickness and impeccable surface integrity with zero pinholes, as mandated by both respected standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a specifies a coating thickness range of 0.38 - 1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while ISO 14655:1999 (E) stipulates a range of 0.40 - 0.90mm. For epoxy-coated strands, the thickness requirement is precisely 0.65 - 1.15mm.
