Currently, two leading international standards govern epoxy-coated steel strands: ASTM.A882/A882M-02a and ISO 14655:1999 (E), which define two vital types: epoxy-coated filled strands and epoxy-coated steel strands. The 2002 revision of the ASTM standard highlights the significance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, discouraging the use of plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) aligns with ASTM.A 882/A882M-96, upholding stringent standards for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring superior quality across both types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are universally recognized for their outstanding corrosion resistance. They require precise coating thickness and impeccable surface integrity with zero pinholes, as stipulated by both standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a specifies a coating thickness range of 0.38 - 1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while ISO 14655:1999 (E) dictates a range of 0.40 - 0.90mm. For epoxy-coated strands, the thickness requirement is precisely 0.65 - 1.15mm.
Both ASTM A882/A882M-02a and ISO 14655:1999 (E) ensure that no pinholes are present throughout the entire length of our epoxy-coated steel strands, a standard consistently met with exceptional excellence by our products.
