The 2002 revision of the ASTM standard highlights the critical importance of epoxy-coated filled steel strands, advising against plain epoxy-coated steel strands. ISO 14655:1999 (E) is harmonized with ASTM.A 882/A882M-96, thus upholding rigorous guidelines for epoxy-coated strand products, ensuring the highest quality across both types.
Epoxy-coated steel strands are celebrated for their outstanding corrosion resistance, requiring precise coating thickness and impeccable surface integrity with no pinholes, as mandated by both standards.ASTM A 882/A882M-02a stipulates a coating thickness ranging from 0.38 -1.14mm for epoxy-coated filled strands, while IS0 14655:1999 (E) specifies a thickness of 0.40-0.90mm.
